Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - The Review

As an oily skinned gal with the occasional spot here and there along with acne marks, I've been on the hunt for an affordable, lightweight foundation that can be worn day to day for years. Although I love a good high-end foundation for nights out, budget-wise, they're just not practical for everyday use.

After trawling through many foundations and BB creams over the years, I've finally found a foundation that works well with my skin and isn't going to break the bank.

This foundation, priced at £10.99, has 3 correcting pigments; yellow pigments to correct dark circles, mauve pigments to give an anti-dull complexion, and green pigments to counteract redness. Do I think these pigments work? Yes.

This foundation also has SPF 10 to provide protection from the sun all day long, whilst also claiming to provide 24 hour hydration. Although it has SPF which can often give a white cast to the face during flash photography, this foundation does not. And yes, I do believe that it does hydrate my skin- perfect for all year round.

The finish of this foundation is very silky/satin like and gives a very natural yet perfected look. It blends like a dream and doesn't go patchy throughout the day. Very low maintenance indeed- what more could a girl want?

Coverage wise, i'd say this foundation gives a light/medium coverage, depending on how good your skin is. I have acne marks and a few spots, but this foundation covers everything beautifully and can be layered up for an even fuller coverage. Bourjois claim that this is like a 'second skin' and has a 'melting texture', and let me tell you, they aren't lying.

The lasting power of this foundation is reasonable judging by the price and my oily skin type, and lasts on my skin before starting to wear off for around 7 hours- not too shabby!

If your skin is very sensitive to fragranced products, this may not be for you as its scent is quite perfumed and may irritate some. Although, my skin is very susceptible to breakouts and this product has not broken me out *touches wood*, so maybe try out a sample before purchasing the full size.

If you prefer more of a matte finish or if you have oily skin like myself, a light dusting of face powder can be used over the top to reduce any shine and set the foundation so that it lasts all day.

If any of you have tried this foundation out let me know your thoughts in the comments, or if anyone has any other recommendations of products please let me know! - Jess x

Summer Desires

So, summer is here (apparently England doesn't agree) and after browsing multiple online shops and watching far too many YouTube videos at ridiculous times in the morning when I should be sleeping, I seem to have accumulated a decently sized wishlist of items which I am lusting over.

 1. As I was doing my daily routine of  browsing through Asos, I stumbled across this beautiful pair of Nude Suede Loafers which I instantly fell in love with. I'm thinking a nice pair of blue denim ankle grazer jeans, paired with a lightweight, summery, cream top (or any top for that matter) and these shoes. Perfect outfit for shopping or going for a day out with friends- right up my alley.

2. Oh good lord, as a huge lover of the original Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, naturally, I am desperate to try the other kinds, mainly this one though. Beautiful packaging, beautiful fruity/floral scent- could a girl wish for anymore? I think not.

3. After hearing many YouTubers and beauty bloggers from the likes of ViviannaDoesMakeup and LilyPebbles ranting and raving about the Aesop Parsley Seed Facemask, I have been longing to give it a go for the longest time. This product claims to extract impurities clogging the pores and smooth and refresh skin, and as a lover of a good facemask, I think I may have to invest.

4. Triangl bikinis. Need I say anymore? Over the past few months, they have been everywhere and I am desperate to jump on the bandwagon and see what the hype is about, but as a student with low income, I don't think this will be happening any time soon (a girl can dream). This black leather one however is my favourite, giving off an edgy yet chic vibe which sounds perfect in my opinion.

5. Yet another item which has been everywhere over the past few months- Birkenstock. I must admit, at first I wasn't a huge lover, but I seem to have been converted. I like to describe them as Marmite- you either love them or you hate them. I love them. However, they are quite pricey for a pair of sandals, and considering I won't get too much use out of due to England's pathetic excuse of summer, i'm not quite sure if I can justify them *sigh*.

Next on the agenda..

Hey guys! Today's post is going to be about what my next purchases are going to be. Mainly of things I don't need in the slightest, but want non the less!

For a while now I've been wanting to try out the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. I've heard non stop raves about  it throughout the YouTube community and obviously, "need" to buy it. I have the No7 hot cloth cleanser and really like it, so I'm hoping that the Liz Earle one will blow No7 out of the water. Hoping being the operative word.

Secondly, I've been dying to try the Rimmel London Day 2 Night mascara in Black. My mum has actually got me this as a little present for my birthday, which is on August 20th, so I'll have to wait until then to try it out!

Also, I've seen many people talking about the Real Techniques brushes. I think for my Birthday I may be asking for the Core Collection because it looks simply divine. I'm in desperate need of some really good quality brushes, and seeing as you get a fair few in the collection for around £20, I thought the price was fairly reasonable.

Ok, so this next one may not be a surprise to most of you, but I've really wanted to try out the MAC Lipstick in the colour Russian Red. This lipstick is loved by so many people and I've decided that, as nudes look absolutely atrocious on me, darker, deeper colours like plums and reds are the way forward as they seem to suit me the most. In my eyes at least. The lipstick, however, is £13.50 which is extremely expensive for a lipstick, but seeing as all the other MAC lipsticks I've tried have been such good quality, I'm hoping this one will be too.

I think that is all I'm really wanting to try for the moment, so please feel free to let me know in the comments what you guys are wanting to try! I love hearing from you :)

All my love,
Jess xxx
